Gil Tepper M.D., F.A.C.S., founded the
Valley/Santa Monica Spine Centers in 1998 and is currently the
Director. Dr. Tepper graduated from the Chicago Medical School
in 1986, with honors.
Dr. Tepper was inducted into the National Medical Honor Society
Alpha Omega Alpha, in 1985 and began his orthopedic training at
Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center
in New York. He is a fellow of the American Academy of
Orthopedic Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of
Orthopedic Surgery. In 1992, Dr. Tepper completed a one year
spinal fellowship in lumbar spine surgery with the
internationally renowned spinal specialist Leon Wiltse, M.D. at
the Long Beach Memorial Center. In 1993, he went on to complete
a cervical spinal surgery fellowship at the UC Irvine Medical
Center and the Long Beach VA. He currently collaborates with the
surgeons in the Department of Neurosurgery at UCLA and performs
spinal reconstruction surgeries at Harbor UCLA Medical Center,
as well as holds a clinical teaching position in the Department
of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Tepper has been a principal clinical investigator in numerous FDA investigations and is a member of the North American Spine Society. He has published numerous scientific papers and textbook chapters in the orthopedic literature. Dr. Tepper is a dynamic speaker who has lectured both nationally and internationally to spinal surgeons on the current surgical and non-surgical management techniques for cervical and lumbar conditions. Dr. Tepper maintains operating privileges at Encino/Tarzana Medical Center, Santa Monica/UCLA Medical Center, Sherman Oaks Hospital and Valley Presbyterian Hospital.
